Dive into the pitch deck to explore the world, characters, and creative vision behind this hilarious and heartfelt tale.
Following the film’s feel-good finale, the Hot Flush series picks up the story with even more chaos, comedy, and unexpected psychic flashes. Expanding on the world of Izzy and Cynthia, the series dives deeper into their messy, magical midlife as they navigate money woes, family dramas, romantic entanglements, and the surprising power of a hot flush. With a colourful cast of returning and new characters, the series offers an honest, hilarious look at second (and third!) chances. Bold, relatable, and brimming with heart, Hot Flush is more than a continuation—it’s a celebration of real women, real friendships, and starting over at any age. Explore the series pitch deck to see what’s next.
Two newly single, middle-aged women. Izzy, a divorced wannabe artist with a failing crystal shop, and Cynthia, a socialite, reeling from financial and feline loss—forge an unlikely friendship. Navigating the cost-of-living crisis, family pressures, and the rollercoaster of menopause, they cling to each other through the absurdities of life.
Can Izzy stop smoking weed long to get back her mojo? Can she paint something more imaginative than fish? More pressingly, will she keep her crystal shop and home? Will Cynthia give up the booze? Finally let go of “Bruce” her beloved cat, whom she carries around—taxidermied! And, most urgently, will she realise her dentist husband, Charles, is
gambling away their fortune with his mistress, Misty!
Hot Flush fills a crucial gap in mainstream media: authentic, nuanced, and entertaining stories about middle-aged women. The story also features a range of supporting characters, each with their own humorous, heartfelt, and dramatic storylines, creating a narrative that resonates with a broad audience.
It's especially timely as it tackles, often with humour, the struggles of simply getting by in today's economic landscape. These characters aren’t distant or exclusive figures; they're real, relatable people navigating the present moment.
In a world craving fresh, empowering, and diverse narrative, Hot Flush is not just a show - its a celebration of life's second (or third!) acts. It’s time to tell stories that champion real women, real friendships, and real transformations.
